What's in a name?

Gulliver stems from the protagonist 'Gully Foyle' from Alfred Bester's The Stars My Destination. Xerxes is in honour of the Persian king 486 to 465 BC. Conroy is Morgan's maternal grandfather's surname.

Ferry

This afternoon, instead of walking straight home from play group, Gully and I got on the bus and headed into the city and then jumped on a ferry.
The wind rushed through our hair and the boat jumped over waves.
Everything looked so beautiful as the sun set
Lucky for us Morgan came and picked us up for dinner!

Chalk tracks

I made chalk tracks on the driveway and Gully loved walking along them or driving his truck or train along them. We chased each other around them too. What an easy and cheap way to construct a fun outdoor space!

Raffles

My grandma and grandpa got married at Raffles hotel in approx.1937. My dad was born in Kuala Lumpur in 1939. Morgs, Gully and I went there to visit and take a look around.

Mustafa

Back in Singapore we visited Mustafa, the biggest shop I've ever been to that is open 24hrs a day and has everything. including groceries, electronics, clothes, furniture, jewelry etc...

I love how people drink from fresh coconuts to refresh in the heat.

A whole aisle of salt! Even US supermarkets cannot compete with this massive, multicultural instititution.

A supermarket with an elevator!

Leaves in running water

In March, Gully and I were stuck in the rain. It was warm and fairly close to home, so we just played around for a while. I showed Gully how to send leaves downstream in gutter rivers.

I was absolutely delighted to see how he applied this knowledge on our recent trip.

Morgan and Gulls had a lovely time exploring the leaves and sending them down the stream at Singapore Zoo.

Gully became obsessed with civil engineering. Here he is examining the gutters in Kuala Lumpur:

In Singapore Botanic Gardens Gully carried a big leaf all the way down the hill just to pop it in the lake.
